Penta Prism

He Rui optics’ penta prism is an optical element that is shaped like a pentagon and is used to deflect light by 90 degrees without inverting the image.

The operation of a penta prism is based on two internal reflections within its structure. Light entering one face of the prism will encounter the first reflecting surface and be reflected. It will then encounter the second reflecting surface and be reflected again before exiting the prism through another face. The light has been deflected by 90 degrees, and due to the design of the penta prism, the emergent light is parallel to the incident light but in the opposite direction.
