beamsplitter prism

He Rui optics' beamsplitters consist of two right-angle prisms, with one of the prisms having a coated hypotenuse surface, and the two prisms are cemented together to form a cube. Advantages of cube beamsplitters include easy integration with a 0° angle of incidence, no beam shift, equal path length for transmitted and reflected beams, and a shorter optical path for the system.

Beamsplitter prisms can be further classified into polarizing and non-polarizing beamsplitters based on their use and function. Polarizing beamsplitters separate light into reflected S-polarized and transmitted P-polarized beams, while non-polarizing beamsplitters split light at a specific reflection/transmission ratio while maintaining the original polarization state of the incident light.
